The drive home...

Missing an exit due to construction caused a rather strange turn of event...

I ended up just east of Wichita Kansas as a tornado hits the town on Sunday afternoon.

It starts out as Tornado alerts on the radio as I was driving west into the storm...

I pulled over at this gas station to ask for some advise.

As I looked up into the sky it's obviouse the cloud above me has rotation and strong updrafts...

Turbulent sky's overhead...

Police roll in and advise those who were sitting there to take cover.

I unfortunately didn't live nearby and they told me to back up 2 miles and go to the Methodist Church in the town of Leon.

I snapped this picture of the church while grabbing bravo and a cooler to head inside.

Here we are heading in....

Already down there was Gaylynn who lived on the west side of Wichita.

But caught out in the approaching storm.

More people and dogs from the town of Leon also start arriving to take cover.

This nice lady from Los Angeles , I don't remember her name, wasn't quite sure how to take Bravo.

As he was calmly taking everything in stride...

She eventually thought he was the coolest dog, EVER!

No big surprise....

Eventually the  storm passes and we all start to leave.

The turbulent Mammatiform clouds still churning overhead.

Another large storm builds to the north.

I stay south to avoid it.

A silver lining on the road as I continue driving south.

Still another...

Finally, I turn North and see the west edge of the Wichita Storm.

Pretty cool pic as the sun goes down on the drive.
